By decision of the Minister of Agricultural Development and Food, Kostas Tsiaras, and on the occasion of the detection of plague of small ruminants in other regions of the country, outside of Thessaly, the movement of sheep and goats for breeding, fattening and slaughtering is prohibited throughout the territory.

“We have made a huge effort to immediately implement the regulation and create better conditions for the non-spread of the disease,” Minister Kostas Tsiaras told ACTION24.

According to Mr. Tsiaras, there was no case in Western Greece, however, because the incubation process is 22 days, “we are on alert,” said the minister.

He spoke about 4 regions together with Attica and emphasized: “The goal is to isolate the cases, because this is the way to limit the spread. We are in a special situation”
