The state will move quickly to compensate the fire victims 2024-08-19 16:53:34

At the same time, the prime minister sent a message that “the country moves forward only through unity and fighting the polarization and toxicity which has not done our country any good in recent years”.

“I hope that these moments of reflection will make us all think about how we can become better and how united we can move forward to face the great difficulties in the future” Kyriakos Mitsotakis concluded in his statement, who thanked the executives of the state apparatus and the volunteers for the battle they fought with the flames.

The Prime Minister’s statement

Today we celebrate August 15 faithful to our traditions. THE fifteenth of August, the important holiday of Orthodoxy gives us all hope and strength to face great difficulties.

I want to thank once again all the officials of the state apparatus and all the volunteers who fought very hard battles with the flames in Attica in the last few days and to assure the fortunately few of our fellow citizens who were affected by the fire, that the state will make sure to move quickly to compensate them.

August 15th should be a moment of reflection and self-awareness and recognition that the country can only move forward through unity, and fighting the polarization and toxicity that has unfortunately done our country no good in recent years.

I hope these moments of reflection make us all reflect on how we can be better, and how united we can move forward to once again successfully face the great difficulties we see coming in the future.

Happy birthday to all Greeks and to all Greek women everywhere.
