The State of Geneva’s Air Quality Measures: Latest Results and Reassuring Analysis

2024-01-12 15:11:06

The State of Geneva is continuing its targeted measures aimed at assessing the impact of proximity to the airport or busy roads on air quality. The latest results of analyzes carried out in Grand-Saconnex and on the Saint-Julien road are reassuring, according to the Territorial Department.

A mobile measuring station was placed between May 2022 and April 2023 along the Saint-Julien road, in Plan-les-Ouates, and another between June 2022 and June 2023 on Chemin Edouard-Sarasin, in Grand-Saconnex, a few hundred meters from the landing strip.

After analysis, the results prove reassuring, underlines the Territorial Department.

Limit values respected

The data collected do not deviate from those from cantonal reference stations for monitoring air quality. They respect the available annual limit values for nitrogen dioxide as well as for fine particles PM10 and PM2.5.

This observation confirms the conclusions of the three campaigns already carried out in Geneva on other sites in comparable contexts.
