The penultimate week of September saw the opening of the CCM youth league, which expanded by four teams over the summer. In the opening two rounds, three teams were 100 percent, namely Vsetín, Chomutov and the newcomer of the competition from Havířov, who defeated Olomouc. After relegation from the extra league, Hanáci did not lose a single point, what do the other results look like?
Chomutov is one hundred percent, the points are for newcomers
The finalist from the 2023/24 season from Chomutov started the new year brilliantly, giving a clear message that the bitter defeat at the very end of the playoffs did not affect him. The pirates first defeated the competition’s newcomer from Příbram 4:2 – the North Bohemians won the opening 20 minutes, winning 3:0. In the next match, they beat the Karlovy Vary reserve 5:2. In both games, the Pirates relied on Olivera Kharboutliho (2+2).
Chomutov’s closest pursuer after the opening game weekend is Ústí nad Labem. Although the Lions could not win even once in normal playing time, they got four points to their account. Slovan recorded identical results, twice 5:4 after extra time. First, the North Bohemians beat Písek, and in the next set time, neither did the Chrudim team. The estuary relied on in both extensions Jakub Císařovský (3+1), the poles were on command Veronika Ortová.
The newcomers of the competition in the form of Příbrami and Poděbrady also achieved premiership points. Both teams defeated the Prague teams – in the second match of the season, Baník dealt with Prague Kobra, when the wild course of the match was decided in the last ten minutes. Poděbrady overpowered Hvězda in the finish, which they defeated in less than three minutes! Příbram relied on the weekend David Werner (3+0) and Poděbrady to change to Filip Beň (2+1).
Havířov imitates Wolves, without loss and Vsetín
Remember last year’s Pilsen Wolves rookie campaign? The Wolves made a fantastic progress to the youth extra league. Now, of course, it is too early to make predictions, but Havířov has ably followed in their footsteps! The team, which was supposed to play in the Regional Youth League, bought a license from Hronov and it paid off. AZet first blanked Olomouc, and then shot down the Polish under-17 national team clearly 5:1. The campaign was directed by Havířová David Kunčicky (2+1).
Vsetín continues on the same wave from last season, which started the year with convincing victories. First, the Wallachians dealt with reserve Zlína 8:1, and then defeated Olomouc, which did not lose a single point after relegation. This time ROBE won “only” 5:1. Vsetín could rely on his performances in both matches Matyáš Fusek (2+3). One of the aspirants for promotion managed to score three goals in three minutes in the first period in both games!
Vsetínu and Havířov are hot on their heels with a one-point difference between Technika Brno and Havlíčkový Brod. Both teams managed to win once in sixty minutes, the second time they had to go to overtime. The skaters won both matches with a difference of one scored goal, while the Technika players scored the second point over Břeclaví ten seconds before the end of the set time. An interesting duel was played between Šumperk and Třebíčí, where it was goalless. The White Stars decided in the sixth series when the only successful executor, the team captain, prevailed Patrik Houzar.
