The team, Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, accompanied by Marc Baretti, the French ambassador in Cairo, Christian Berger, head of the European Union delegation in Egypt, leaders of the National Authority for Tunnels and heads of major international companies executing the project in all disciplines, witnessed the start of the trial operation with passengers for the first part of the third phase of the line. The Ministry of Transport said in a statement today that the first part of the first phase extends from Ataba station to Kit Kat station with a length of 4 km, which includes (4) tunnel stations, namely (Nasser – Maspero – Safa Hegazy – Kit Kat), passing through the tunnel. The minister’s visit began with a visit to Nasser station, which is an interchange station with the first metro line, which will have a total area following the opening of this part of the line 10,000 square meters, consisting of 4 floors, and comprising 52 ticket gates, 4 automatic ticketing machines (TVM) to obtain tickets, and the number of 37 stairs. The Minister of Transport announced that this stage has been implemented at the highest level of quality. The stations are air-conditioned, and there are screens on the sidewalks to inform passengers of the arrival times of the train, and they have elevators, escalators, entry and exit gates, in addition to that they are equipped with special preparations to receive people of determination, due to the availability of 2 electric elevators in each A station from the street level to the sidewalks, which have prominent slabs to facilitate their movement.
The Minister inspected the rest of the stations independently, one of the trains between each two stations, which he started at Maspero Station and then Safaa Hegazy, and was received by a number of the people of Zamalek and the Sharbatly Building, who presented him with flowers and the accompanying delegation, and thanked the President for these giant projects that facilitate the movement of citizens and then Kit Kat.
The minister stressed that this project will serve this area, which is characterized by a high population density. During his inspection tour, he reassured the presence of all the operating company’s crews and the readiness of the stations to operate, receive and provide the highest level of service to the public.
The minister thanked the State of France, the government and French companies for the fruitful cooperation in implementing metro projects, as well as the European Union and its member states in positive cooperation in various fields of transportation, as well as the Egyptian companies implementing metro projects such as the Arab Contractors and Orascom.
He stressed that the operation of these stations today comes in implementation of the president’s directives to serve the people of the areas the project is going through, and to facilitate their various movements, stressing that this project is not the end but the beginning of completing huge projects for green electric mass transportation that are environmentally friendly, such as the fast electric train network and the completion of the stage The third and fourth for the electric light rail, the completion of the second and third parts of the third phase of the third metro line, the implementation of the fourth metro line, the sixth line, the monorail projects, the express bus and Abu Qir metro, and the rehabilitation of the sand tram, all of which are environmentally friendly means of transportation.
He pointed out that the operation of these stations comes in conjunction with the Egyptian state’s celebrations of the glorious victory of October, and this project is one of the modern green mass transportation that will serve the new republic whose rules were laid by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who directed the expansion in completing the metro network in parallel with the establishment of a network Giant transportation is one of the environmentally friendly means of electric traction, which constitutes a major qualitative leap in mass transportation in Egypt.

Which is estimated at 36,000 kilos of carbon emissions per day and 13,000 tons annually for a distance of 4 km only, is the length of the first part of the third phase of the third line of the metro. It has the following factors (close distances between stations with an average of 1 km between each two stations – the implementation of the tunnel path in the narrow and upper streets in the broad and shallow streets in isolated places according to the urban planning of the area and the type of soil

This comes in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to operate the first part of the third phase of the third line of the subway for passengers on the occasion of the celebration of the glorious October 6 feasts, and to facilitate the movement of people in the areas surrounding the High Court and the Maspero areas of Zamalek and Kit Kat.
