He is the late Egyptian artist Khalil Morsi, who studied agriculture and theater, and succeeded in ascending the stage alongside Mohamed Sobhi, so he excelled on stage, cinema and television.

The artist Khalil Morsi was born in Cairo Governorate on September 21, 1946. He received his education at the Faculty of Agriculture, with which he joined the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts and obtained a BA from it until he headed the Department of Theater at October 6 University.

He drew his way with Nour El Demerdash through Diab’s character with director Nour El Demerdash in the series The Guardian, to find his way following that in the drama that made him enter through it to the cinema in many roles, including the movie “The Emperor”, “Mission in Tel Aviv” and “A Woman Who Shocked a Throne” Egypt”, as well as a series of series that have met with great success, such as “I will not live in my father’s jilbab”, “Al Rahaya”, and “Massat al-Amam”.

On the stage, the artist, Mohamed Sobhi, was “Wish al-Saad” on “Morsi”, where he involved him in a number of his prominent works, such as the series “Wanis and his days”, and also participated with him in several plays, such as “The Safety Rail” and “The Set Game” and “Carmen” and others, and was distinguished by the role of “the officer” and excelled in it, until some called him the “Arab Drama Officer”, although he did not seek any absolute championship and was satisfied with secondary roles, however, he achieved great success in a short time.

The artist Khalil Morsi was always keen to visit the holy places, and he performed the Hajj twice in 1995 and 2010, and he also performed more than 12 Umrah, and he once stated: “Seeing the Two Holy Mosques is the happiest moment of my life, and one of the most wonderful things that are not equal to anything else in the world.” And I did not encounter any difficulties, neither during the Umrah nor the Hajj, because God facilitated everything and helped me a lot. It is a blessed and all-good journey. My visits to the holy places began with Umrah. Umrah is a training for a person to receive spirituality.”

He might not see the Kaaba despite standing in front of it

Morsi recounted one of the strange situations during his visit to Mecca to perform Umrah, as he used to bend his head down when entering the Grand Mosque, and when he feels that he is in front of the Kaaba, he raises his head and begins to pray, but this time he might not see the Kaaba, as it was surrounded by a wooden fence. He felt very sad and cried.

“Morsi” said regarding this situation: “I contracted hard and cried, but your Lord Almighty is as if he is telling me that you have contracted because you did not see the Kaaba, so I will release you by entering the precincts of the Kaaba from the inside, and it was an opportunity for me and the artist Ahmed Badir to enter it, where we met a person named Ahmed Shaybah, who is from the tribe of Bani Shaybah, who hold the keys to the Kaaba, and he is an officer, but he was wearing civilian clothes. He told us, “Come before dawn and I will enter you.” Indeed, we entered through the wooden door and found ourselves in front of the Asad Stone. very profusely.”

The artist “Khalil Morsi” died on August 5, 2014, at the age of 68, due to a sudden heart attack.
