The Star of the Seas reveals a little more

Royal Caribbean International’s future flagship, set to depart from Port Canaveral, will showcase a variety of seven-night Caribbean itineraries starting in August 2025.

Royal Caribbean International (RCI) is gearing up to launch the Star of the Seas in August 2025.

As the latest addition to the Icon Class lineup, Star of the Seas will feature “a wealth of innovative amenities and thrilling activities designed to enchant travelers of all ages,” according to the cruise line.

Notable Features

Among the highlights of the new megaship is the Lincoln Park Supper Club, a dining experience inspired by 1930s Chicago, blending live entertainment with gourmet cuisine.

For adventure enthusiasts, the ship will introduce Category 6, the first water park at sea, boasting six record-breaking slides, including one that reaches thrilling heights of 154 feet, called the Crown’s Edge.

Families will discover a serene escape in the Surfside neighborhood, specially crafted for young travelers. Here, children can enjoy Splashaway Bay and Baby Bay, while parents relax at the Water’s Edge pool, located conveniently nearby.

The adults-only Hideaway will provide a secluded escape, featuring one of only two suspended infinity pools at sea, accompanied by a DJ performance.

A Floating City

The Star of the Seas will not merely be a ship; it will serve as a genuine floating city, divided into eight distinct districts, each showcasing a unique blend of activities, dining, and entertainment.

The standout elements include:

  • Thrill Island with its FlowRider surf simulator;
  • Chill Island featuring four swimming pools, among which is the largest pool at sea, Royal Bay, along with the Swim & Tonic bar;
  • AquaDome, a tranquil retreat by day that transforms into an entertainment venue by night, offering panoramic ocean views and “breathtaking performances” at the AquaTheater.

Seven-Night Stays

Embarking from Port Canaveral, Star of the Seas will present a range of seven-night Caribbean itineraries, allowing travelers access to world-class destinations, including RCI’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, in the Bahamas.

When it arrives at Port Canaveral, Star of the Seas will also join the newly launched Utopia of the Seas. By next summer, cruisers will be able to select between a week-long Caribbean voyage, a three-night weekend retreat, or a four-night midweek escape in the Bahamas.
