“The spread of influenza infection”… Do schools close?!

Caretaker Health Minister Firas Al-Abyad stressed that “there is no emergency order to hold cabinet sessions soon, unlike the previous session, which was an urgent necessity to secure funding for incurable diseases, cancer, and hospital coverage.”

And he believed in an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon”, that “Hezbollah’s goal in participating in the session was to decide on emergency items to facilitate the affairs of the citizen.” He said, “We met two days ago with the Social Security Committee and with Minister Hajjar, and we are ready to solve any issue, and the relationship between the ministers is excellent.”

Regarding the donation of medicines from Iran, he said: “The ministry is ready to accept aid from any country in the world. There are two conditions for accepting medicines, the first is quality, and the second is that we are not subjected to sanctions following import.”

In the file of cancer drugs, he said: “An investigation committee was formed with four drugs in Karantina following the increase in complaints regarding theft and the preference for distributing medicines. The reality that existed prevented monitoring and checking violations.”

As for kidney dialysis, he denied the existence of obstacles, stressing that “the necessary dues should be paid to hospitals on time.”

He pointed out that “the coronavirus and cholera cases are under control, following the quick response of those concerned. Vaccines have protected the country from the spread of the epidemic, because prevention is more important than treatment.”

He asked schools to “secure conditions to prevent the spread of influenza infection,” stressing that “there is no tendency to close, especially in the current circumstances.”
