The spokesman of the King of Morocco forced to react to a video of Mohammed VI in the streets of Paris

While Mohammed VI was in Paris at the end of August, a motorist shared a video which suggests that the king of Morocco might be drunk in the street. In any case, this is what the Arabic language newspaper An-Nahar says, which relayed the images of Mohammed VI surrounded by bodyguards in civilian clothes. The latter would also have tried to prevent passers-by from taking photos and would even have forced the motorist to stop filming.

These images caused a reaction in Morocco, the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages being strictly prohibited there for Muslims.

The king’s spokesman reacted to the controversial video by saying that the latter was only intended to tarnish the image of the sovereign. “The King was walking through the streets of Paris, and when he turned to greet people, he almost lost his balance and leaned on his bodyguards. He didn’t have a glass of wine, but a bottle of water in hand”did he declare.
