the special services segment added a firm and more activity

The new historical record of activity that was registered in Vaca Muerta during the first quarter of the year was reflected in the segment of special services which not only accompanied the impulse, but also added one more company. So far this year, there was a company that more than doubled its work in training and it was consolidated as the third most important.

In total, there were six companies in the segment that carried out fracturing stages in Vaca Muerta. These are Halliburton, Schlumberger, Tenaris, Calfrac, Weatherford and San Antonio, which joined this year.

The one that registered the greatest year-on-year increase, in the analysis period, is Tenaris, which increased its jobs by almost 160% over the first quarter of 2022. Last year the company completed its first year making fractures and ranked as the third most active, a position it consolidated this year.

The data comes from the monthly reports prepared by the firm NCS Multistage, added to information processed by Power On.

Of the total of 3,345 fracture stages that have been performed so far this yearHalliburton took over regarding 1,389, which is equivalent to more than 41% of the total. Compared to last year, there is a jump of more than 25%.

In second place was Schlumberger, which completed some 987 frac stages, which was almost 27% of the total, and grew 35% year-on-year. The podium was completed by Tenaris with some 400 stages that represented 12% of the more than 3,300 in the quarter.

The bottom three companies were Calfrac, Weatherford and San Antonio with some 324, 219 and 26 frac stages, respectively. Calfrac was the only one that registered fewer jobs than last year, while Weatherford increased its activity by 47%.
