The Spanish government gave in to Moroccan blackmail (Nigerian movement for Western Sahara)

AbujaMarch 30, 2022 (SPS) The Nigerian Movement for the Liberation of Western Sahara (NMLWS) has strongly denounced the Spanish government’s new position on Western Sahara, pointing out that Madrid has given in to Morocco’s blackmail which resorts in particular to drugs and migratory flow to put pressure on certain countries.

The Nigerian Movement, in a statement of which the SPS received a copy, called the decision of the Spanish government a “flagrant violation of international law”, reminding it of its historical and moral responsibility towards the Sahrawi people, being the former colonial power which “denied his promise of self-determination for the Sahrawi people”.

The NMLWS also said in its statement that the action of the head of the Spanish government Pedro Sanchez “is a clear proof of his surrender to the pressure and blackmail of the Moroccan regime which resorts in particular to drugs and the migratory flow”, calling peace and freedom loving citizens of the world to “condemn” the Spanish decision on Western Sahara.

He also hailed Spanish civil society and all political parties who condemned Sanchez’s decision to support Morocco’s sinister “autonomy” plan, calling on them to “continue to exert more pressure on the government of their countries in order to change this outrageous position”.

The Nigerian Movement also hailed the Saharawi people for their resistance to the Moroccan occupier, and also called on the African Union (AU) and all African governments to “condemn” Madrid’s decision.

He stressed, in this context, “the need to condemn the policy of the Moroccan occupation authorities aimed at violating international law and destroying freedoms by presenting proposals contrary to international legitimacy concerning the resolution of the conflict in Western Sahara”. . (SPS)
