The Great Attractor
Have you heard of the Great Attractor? If yes, stay because this is going to interest you a lot, and if you had never heard this term, here we explain what it is regarding, this will become very interesting.
Our galaxy is called “Milky Way”, it is a barred spiral galaxy, and in this is the Solar System, the same one that has the Earth, and therefore, us. Another amazing fact is that it is part of a group known as the Local Group, and of all the galaxies that are within this term, the Milky Way is the second brightest and largest, only behind the famous Andromeda galaxy.
In case you didn’t know, Andromeda, also known as Messier 31, according to the prestigious scientific journal Nature, will collide with our galaxy. It is a certain event, but it is not yet known for sure when it will occur.
Every time you know this, we tell you that there is a place in space that has been called “Great Attractor” its simple name makes your hair stand on end, because it does not sound very pleasant.

Nothing would escape the clutches of this place, here is the graveyard of many stars, comets, and even planets. This large anomaly is located in the Laniakea supercluster, which in turn contains the Virgo supercluster, right where our galaxy is located.
But as we mentioned above, nothing in the Universe is still, everything is in motion and constant growth, therefore, the Great Attractor, no matter how monstrous it may be, cannot escape being in motion, since it is directed towards the Supercluster considered the largest in the Universe (Shapley).
According to Universe Todaythis anomaly is not so big as to have such an attraction, since both our galaxy and many others are going towards this Great Attractor, at amazing speed, as if it were a magnet.
It is not yet known what it is that leads galaxies to have an end here, however, scientists will not stop until they find the truth.
