The architectural photography course “The Space Created by Light” starts this week

In “The Space Created by Light”, Ana Mello will have 11 face-to-face meetings with students to develop the following theme: how to think regarding the history of traditional architectural photography and its relations with city photography?

Throughout the course, participants will have access to photographic techniques and also theoretical basis on types of framing, composition, construction of space through light and shadow, what is a specific architectural photo essay, among other topics related to architectural photography. .

Offered free of charge by the Stickel Foundation, the course will be taught by educator Ana Mello at the Culture Factory in Vila Nova Cachoeirinha in São Paulo.

In practical classes and in two photographic trips to relevant architectural projects in the city of São Paulo, students will be able to experience in loco the realities of the work of an architectural photographer.

Ana Mello is an architect by training and has been developing photographic essays on different scales for 9 years: cities, buildings, landscaping, interior architecture and furniture. She participated in exhibitions at the Instituto Tomie Ohtake and Itaú Cultural, at the Centro Cultural Brasil-Peru in Lima, Peru, and at the Museum of Architecture in Vienna, Austria.

Since 2017, in partnership with the Stickel Foundation, he has been teaching architecture photography at the Fábrica de Cultura in Vila Nova Cachoeirinha. Its main objective is to teach photography as a way of transforming people through observation and appropriation of urban space.
