The solidarity mission of the parents of Fernando Báez Sosa: they donated the collection for the anniversary of the crime

The trial for the murder of Fernando Báez Sosa entered the final stretch. Next week the arguments of the parties will start and then the date of the sentence once morest the eight accused rugby players will be known, and meanwhile, the parents of the victim continue in Dolores with a solidarity mission: donate the collection of the third anniversary of the murder of his 18 year old son.

“We are regarding to distribute everything,” Graciela Sosa told the Télam agency, who together with her husband carry out this solidarity task in the city of Dolores, where they are staying and will remain until the end of the trial.

One of the places that received the donation of non-perishable food and other items that were collected at the ceremony on the 18th at the Dolores Amphitheater was the El Maracaná picnic area, in that city, where the couple attended to leave the donations.

“It took us by surprise, I didn’t think they were going to do it personally, we were moved and we had no words to say thank you. What they did despite the pain is very great,” Andrea Alday, one of the managers of the picnic area, which some 130 people attend daily, told TN.

On the Facebook wall of that site you can see a photo of Graciela and her husband, Silvino Báez, together with the people at the picnic area and another with the bags of donated items.

“Thank you Graciela and Silvino for your great solidarity, as Fernando would have preferred, thank you for your visit, there are no words, we just hug them very tight and may God continue to give them integrity, strength, and above all, may they find peace and justice for your son. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you and I hope this message of support reaches you”, says a text published next to the images.

Meanwhile, the eight defendants await the arguments in Unit 6 of Dolores, where they were transferred on Sunday, January 1, one day before the start of the trial being carried out by the Oral Criminal Court 1. All of them had already been housed in that prison from January 29 to March 2020, days following the murder committed at the door of Le Brique.

After three weeks of trial, the stage of the incorporation of evidence ended and on Wednesday the 25th the allegations of the prosecution and the complaint will begin, while on Thursday the 26th those of the defenses will be developed. After that, the court will announce the date on which it will issue its verdict, which is likely to be January 31, when the eight defendants will be able to say their last words.
