The Minister of Public Accounts announced, earlier this Thursday, the sum of 14.6 billion euros in duties to be collected, or 1.2 billion euros more than the previous year, which was already a record . “All taxes combined, we estimate between 80 and 100 billion euros”, reacted immediately on franceinfo Anne Guyot-Welke, who therefore calls “to relativize” the amount announced by Gabriel Attal. The secretary general of the Solidaires Finances publiques trade union “congratulates” Nevertheless “to be able to have amounts recovered in matters of fraud and tax evasion”.
The government is due to present its anti-fraud plan soon. Anne Guyot-Welke considers so far that there has been no “political will to fight effectively once morest fraud”. In particular, it judges “insufficient”this Thursday on franceinfo, the plan put in place in 2018. “But maybe Gabriel Attal will prove us wrong”advances the general secretary of the Solidaires Public Finances union.
In the meantime, it calls on the government to provide public finance officials with the “technical, legal and human resources” to help fight fraud and tax evasion. “Whether in tax audits or on all missions, we are a target administration in terms of setting an example to make employment public”regrets Anne Guyot-Welke.
