The Soçon, a Namur knife like no other, arrives in the pockets of its 300 buyers

The local anchorage with S-shaped punches to recall the name but also the meanders of the Sambre and the Meuse which meet in the Walloon capital or the finish of the case in jeans, from the team’s pants , the leather recovered by the Ressourcerie and finally the announced quality of the blade did not fail to hit the mark: “The project was to do a 3 month crowdfunding to produce 300 knivesexplains Michel Pauss. The sum was reached… in barely 9 days!“.

A week before the Walloon celebrations, the meeting was set at the La Houppe brewery for hand-delivery to 170 of the 300 buyers. The concretization of a conversation of friends: “We are all passionate regarding knives, good gastronomic meals and our city of Namur and around a meal, the idea was launched and lo and behold, a year and a half later, the knife is there. It is beautiful, well made, will allow you to cut the sausage, to butter the toast and even to pass from father to daughter for example.“, explains Marc Detraux.

But 300 knives won’t do. The requests continue to flow and other Soçons will still emerge. A waiting list of nearly 150 people exists and for Namur residents but also sometimes, orders from abroad, everyone can come and order a knife.
