A mix that no one expected. But is true. Here’s everything we know regarding Omega Strikers.
Omega Strikers is the name of the game in which players compete in teams of three and try to score more goals than their opponents. The title is developed by Odyssey Interactive as her debut game.
The developer company consisting of former Riot Games Developers and those familiar with Summoner’s Rift will certainly feel comfortable here and will see some similarities.
Champions not on the battlefield but on the soccer field?
Similar to how we look at it League of Legends are used to, it will also be at Omega Strikers different characters, each equipped with four abilities. Only in this case no epic battles are fought in 3 lanes, instead you compete on a futuristic soccer field.
With the skills you can then dash across the map, attack opposing players, build walls to defend your goal and much more. Each character has a unique playstyle and level of difficulty.
We’ve seen a total of 13 playable characters so far, and they’re a colorful mix of giant hamsters, dragons, humans, and a slime person. There are two roles to choose from. Firstly the goalie who, obviously, is responsible for preventing goals. And the strikers. They should score goals.
Just as welcome on the couch as on the e-sports stage
The principle of Omega Strikers is actually quite simple. Each team has three players. They then each choose a character and then play a kind of futuristic football. Whoever scores 5 goals first wins in the end. As I said, very simple at first glance.
Just like the developers did Odyssey Interactive also want. Dax Andrus and Richard Henkel, the founders of Odyssey Interactivefollow in the development of Omega Strikers namely a philosophy they know from their time at Riot Games.
A game should be easy to pick up and pick up, while also rewarding players who master the game. So it should be a game for casual players and professionals that is just as at home on the big stages as it is on the couch. It’s not for nothing that the two have the games Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. as inspiration for Omega Strikers specified.
A mix of LoL and Fifa?
So what do you get when you buy MOBA elements from League of Legends with elements from sports games like Fifa combined? The answer is probably pretty close to Omega Strikers your turn. Whether you choose the MOBA style of play or the Fifa style is up to you.
If you want you can trick your opponents with skillful combinations, but you can also simply beat them up. Or anything in between. Either way, there are definitely few limits to the imagination in Omega Strikers.
Omega Strikers will be released on April 27 for Windows PC, Nintendo Switch iOS and Android.
