Qualcomm plans to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor in May. The company would also consider adding a mid-range SoC to its catalog. A leak designates the first smartphone to ship the chipset Snapdragon 7 Gen 1it would be the Oppo Reno 8.

A similarity between the Reno 8 and the OnePlus 10

On March 31, OnePlus launched theOnePlus 10 Pro in France. If the design of the Oppo Reno 8 seems familiar to you, the cause lies in its resemblance to the latter. According to an article by the leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Oppo Reno 8 would first welcome the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. The Smartphone would offer a 6.55-inch FHD + AMOLED screen, refreshed at 120 Hz. Its back would be armed a triple camera photo unit. Sony is reportedly supplying the 50 MP IMX766, aided by an 8 MP ultra-wide and a 2 MP module. The screen would house the fingerprint sensor. Battery power is reportedly up to 4,500mAh, with 80W fast charging.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is said to support LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The SoC would be engraved in 4 nm and would be equipped with an octabody processor. These would consist of four Cortex – A710 cores clocked at 2.36 GHz. Added to this are another 4 Cortex-A510 cores with a clock frequency of 1.84 GHz. The chipset would also feature an integrated Adreno 662 GPU. According to Digital Chat Station, Oppo would pair the SoC with the ISP MariSilicon X.
