The video has been shared by Mark Pelley, who is active in the safe removal of snakes that reach homes and other places in Australia.
The video was shared on Tik Tok. The unusual ability of reptiles to stretch their bodies helps snakes to crawl through such small spaces. Most species of snakes can crawl through small spaces like this. Eastern brown snakes, the second most venomous snake species on land, also have this ability. It is common for them to enter the interior of houses when the summer heats up. Experts explain that the snake does not have to go very far to get its body inside the house through the small gap between the door and the floor. Snakes have ribs that can move easily.
The fact that the ribs are not connected to the ribcage helps the snake in this type of movement. Snakes can spread their bodies as well as widen their mouths to swallow larger prey. But pythons do not have this ability. The snake in the video was found in Diamond Bay, Australia. Experts also explain that pet doors and shoes for pets can become a way for snakes to enter the house.
