As usual, OnLeaks has just revealed the design of a smartphone which has not yet been officially presented by its manufacturer: the Xiaomi 14 Pro. It is expected to arrive in China on October 27, following which it will probably be necessary wait until the beginning of next year for its marketing in France.

The 3D renders of the smartphone confirm several previous reports which indicated that Xiaomi would significantly change the design of the device compared to the previous generation. However, this time, Not all leakers seem to agree on the accuracy of the renders shared by OnLeaks.

The Xiaomi 14 Pro will abandon the curved screen of the Xiaomi 13 Pro

The most important change that we can distinguish at first glance is the renderings and the abandonment of the curved screen, which has been present for several generations. On the Xiaomi 14 Pro, the manufacturer would have chosen to use a flat 2.5D screen. The slab would be OLED QHD+, LTPO 120 Hzand would especially rely on a brightness never before seen on a smartphone of nearly 3000 nits.

Another of its particularities would be the fineness of its borders, which promise to break records. According to several leaks, these would only measure 1 mm thick, more than 50% less than those of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, we can still note that these will not be symmetrical all around the screen, because the “chin”, the lower border, seems slightly thicker than the others.

The reduction of the borders also results in a rather particular positioning for the selfie sensor. If it does not move compared to previous generations, the widening of the surface of the slab gives the impression that it is positioned lower, and therefore that the punch will become a little more annoying.

As for the slab, it would bea screen with a diagonal of 6.6 inches, compared to 6.73 inches previously. This reduction will also lead to a reduction in the length of the smartphone, the latter now measuring 161.6 x 75.3 x 8.7 mm. It does, however, become a little wider and thicker, which should make it heavier on the scale.

Xiaomi would bet on 4 cameras on its Xiaomi 14 Pro

On the back, this time we would find 4 different cameras arranged in a square, compared to 3 on the previous generation. This is the point where opinions differ, because many leakers assure that the smartphone will only offer 3 cameras.

We know that the Xiaomi 14 Pro will ditch its 1-inch main sensor for a slightly smaller camera, which might perhaps explain the addition of a fourth photo sensor to improve the versatility of the device. It now remains to be seen whether this will be confirmed as we approach the official conference scheduled for the end of the month.

Let us also note the return of the second speaker on the upper edge of the smartphone, which made the Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 11 and 12 famous, but which disappeared with the 13 series. We should therefore be entitled to more powerful and more immersive stereo sound than with the speaker located above of the screen. The smartphone should also be IP68 certified for protection once morest water and dust.

Other expected technical specifications include the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3which will be revealed in a few days, a battery of at least 4860 mAh with 120W fast charging and a 50 MP main photo sensor.
