Skier Sofya Ivanova lost consciousness during a 10 km freestyle race at the Russian Cup stage in Chusovoy (Perm Territory), reports “RIA Novosti”.
Rescuers evacuated the athlete from the track on a snowmobile and handed over to the ambulance doctors.
Ivanova’s coach Alexander Pridchin later reported “RIA Novosti”that the athlete got better.
“Now everything is fine, she went home with her parents, moved away. I don’t know what happened. She walked at a distance, says: “I feel bad.” I say: “Be patient, it’s bad for everyone, it’s hard for everyone.” Didn’t think it would happen. She didn’t have to run the last race, she had to go to college, ”said the coach.
According to Pridchin, Ivanova was recently ill and will now undergo an examination. “There will be an X-ray, I took tests before the trip, everything was fine, everything is normal,” he added.
