Samsung is reportedly planning not to change the form factor of its high-end smartphones, the Galaxy S23s, too much in 2023.
Some sad people are used to saying that smartphones are still very similar from one generation to another. And it’s not theiPhone 14 which will prove them wrong. Nor the future Samsung Galaxy S23 according to the Ice Universe leaker on his account Weibo.
Specializing in leaks surrounding the Korean brand, the leaker claims to have gotten his hands on the dimensions of the future high-end smartphones of Samsung. You have to get up early to see the differences.
A matter of millimeters
Let’s start with the smallest of the three. The Galaxy S23 is reportedly 146.3 tall, which is 0.3mm taller than its predecessor. The same goes for the width of 70.9, while the thickness should not vary. Will Samsung reflect these approximately 0.3 mm in the edges of the screen? Difficult to say with certainty at the moment. The screen would remain on a 6.1 inch format in full HD +.
The S23 Plus for its part, with its 6.6-inch screen in full HD + sees all its dimensions vary at the margin. We would go from 157.4×75.8×7.64 mm for the S22 Plus to 157.8×76.2×7.6 mm, a difference of 0.4 x 0.4 x -0.04 mm for each dimension. Either way, it shouldn’t be obvious.
The S23 Ultra meanwhile might be the one that deviates the least from its predecessor. It would only gain 0.1 mm in height for 163.4 mm and 0.2 mm in width for 78.1 mm. The thickness of 8.9 mm would be retained. The very rectangular form factor of last year should logically be retained. Samsung did not have fun merging its Note and Galaxy ranges to release only one offspring from this union.
