Cacho Garay has been imprisoned since July 2023 after violating house arrest in the case of gender violence and sexual abuse, following the complaint of his ex-wife, Verónica Macías, who recounted the ordeal she had to live with the once popular Mendoza artist.
Added to these crimes were aggravated threats, illegal possession of a firearm for civilian use, aggravated deprivation of liberty and disobedience to a court order.
The program Mariana’s diary, which is broadcast in the afternoons of America, shared this Tuesday a current image of the artist behind bars, where he looks very deteriorated. “It is obviously true that he lost weight, because he looks thinner, but you can also see the conditions in which he and his cellmates live. There are three beds and six people in the cell. “They take turns sleeping on the floor,” they said, revealing a prison reality that most of the country’s prisons are not immune to.
“Cacho has prostate cancer, diabetes, cardiological, neurological, and motor problems, and he lost 80 percent of his vision in one of his eyes,” they added from the program floor while the images were broadcast.

“He wants through an appeal presented by his lawyer to be evaluated by an oncologist, a urologist, a cardiologist, a neurologist and a traumatologist. His health is very bad. He is given the mattress to sleep on. And he even gives motivational talks to the young people because he notices that in that pavilion, which is one of the most spicy in the prison, there are many suicides among the youngest. And he tries to show them his life story,” they detailed in the program hosted by Mariana Fabbiani.
