The accused attacked the judge who denied him parole.

Redden has three criminal records and at the time of the attack he was awaiting sentencing on a charge of “attempted assault causing serious bodily injury” that had occurred on April 23 of last year, when he threatened another person with “breaking their kneecaps.” .

Before the sentencing, the 30-year-old had said he “should not be sent to prison.” His lawyer had requested his conditional release, but the judge denied it and indicated that he “should try a different measure,” which unleashed the defendant’s fury.

The aggressor’s history of violence

In 2021, he faced charges for “malicious destruction of property” and records indicate he served a prison sentence for “domestic assault” for one year, starting in 2021.

On April 23, 2023, Redden had threatened to “break the kneecaps” of another person, resulting in serious bodily injury.
