“The shock after the euphoria”: the headlines of the newspapers in the Arab world celebrated the Iranian attack

The press in the Middle East reacted today to Iran’s second missile attack against Israel. As expected, the Iranian newspapers are happy for Eid and describe the attack in terms of “the day of revenge” and hitting the “heart of Satan”.

In Lebanon: the newspaper “Al-Akhbar” close to Hezbollah calls the attack “the shock after the euphoria”, that is, after the elimination of Nasrallah. On the other hand, the headline in the popular newspaper “A-Nahar” emphasizes: “Iran understands the anger of the Axis (that is, of its affiliates in the Middle East) and responds with the most extensive attack of missiles on Israel.” An allusion to the criticism of Hezbollah supporters against Tehran for abandoning the organization.

In Saudi Arabia: the newspaper “A-Sharq al-Awast” predicts what is to come with “Iran taking revenge… and Israel promises that there will be consequences”. The newspaper “Okhat” joins him with “Iran launches dozens of rockets at Israel, Tel Aviv pledges to respond harshly”.

As mentioned, the IDF admitted today that there were hits on the bases during the Iranian attack, but they were not significant and did not harm the capability. No damage was caused to the Air Force, the aircraft or civilians during the attacks, while the defense systems operated with impressive success. At the same time, two senior Hezbollah officials were eliminated in Dahaiah in Lebanon, and the IDF continued anti-ISIL operations in strategic centers in Syria.
