The ships of oil derivatives will arrive late next week, and there is no need to rush to the stations – Al-Manar TV website – Lebanon

The Lebanese Petroleum Association issued a statement on supplying the Lebanese market with oil derivatives, which said:

“In light of the international crisis situation and the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, some irresponsible permits are issued in Lebanon, which lead to a state of panic and citizens rush to secure the necessary supplies, including gasoline and diesel.

The ongoing war and its impact on global oil prices and on the movement of ships loaded with oil derivatives, a large part of which arrives through the Black Sea and from areas of international conflict. We, as a petroleum union, work in this sector assure the citizens that there is a crisis…but this crisis is receding because the ships loaded with oil derivatives will arrive successively as of the coming weeks and will unload their cargo as soon as the process of opening the necessary credits by the Banque du Liban is completed.

Until the arrival of the first ship, the companies have sufficient stocks for the local market, and distribution is carried out in a deliberate manner.

Out of responsibility and patriotism, we call on all citizens not to rush to fuel stations and not to store them because of their danger in order to preserve public safety, and to prevent illegal exploitation.
We also note the role of the security services in monitoring every exploiter, monopoly and promoter of suspicious and irresponsible permits. We call on the Central Bank to expedite the opening of credits to ease the burdens on citizens.”
