Holidays are always a “bumper” time for many service industries, among which it is impossible not to mention the shipper team. During the holiday of March 8, the income of the shipper receive even half a month’s salary to work.
Mr. Hai Nam (35 years old, Dong Da district, Hanoi) did shipper job for regarding 4 years now. “Life was too difficult, so I left my hometown to Hanoi, didn’t study, didn’t have a degree, so I applied to be a delivery shipper. On every holiday, I go to the flower and souvenir shops to ask to be a shipper,” Mr. Nam shared.
According to Mr. Nam, the holidays of the year are all “golden” times for every shipper, especially women’s holidays such as October 20, Valentine’s Day, February 14 or March 8. On the occasion of March 8, the amount of shipping that Mr. Nam received was up to nearly 4 million VND.
“Each trip I carry regarding 15-20 orders of flowers to ship to customers, on average I receive regarding 40,000 VND per order. The more expensive flower orders will have a higher shipping rate. There are also many flower orders sent to the same office, so I save a lot of time to move, “said the shipper.
Not only Mr. Nam, friend Hai Trung (25 years old, Cau Giay district, Hanoi) also focused on this special holiday. “Many stores want me to ship but I can’t receive any more, these days a team of shippers like me work from 5 am until late at night”, the friend shared.
Despite having to work for a long time with intense intensity, Hai Trung is still very happy: “Try to work a little, but in return, the income will be very large, this year I will receive regarding 3 million VND only. exclusively on March 8”.
During the holidays, the need for delivery becomes extremely essential, especially in big cities. Sharing with us, Mr. Huu Minh (33 years old) said that due to the peculiarity of working far away, every holiday will have to rely on the help of shippers to deliver gifts to his girlfriend.
“Fortunately there is a shipper, but I don’t know how to send gifts to my loved ones. Although the shipping fee during the holidays is higher than usual, I still fully accept it, they sacrificed the holidays to work, so this money is completely worth it,” said Minh.
The high demand during the holidays makes it even harder to recruit shippers. Linh Chi, the owner of the flower shop, said: “Last year I mightn’t find a shipper even though the shipping fee was very high. This year, I learned from experience, so I recruited early, at peak times, my store must have up to 3 people to be able to deliver goods to customers.”
According to the survey, the salary of each store for shippers on March 8 holiday alone can be up to 3-4 million VND, depending on the number of orders. This amount corresponds to half a month’s average salary that each shipper can receive. Therefore, many shippers decide to “do their best” during each Tet holiday.
Currently, shipper is considered a “hot” profession, regardless of young or old. There are currently 2 types of shippers, including those who work in companies specializing in the field of delivery and those who will work as freelancers, find their own delivery and arrange routes. delivery for the most convenience.
Although this is a job that can achieve a relatively high income, it is also a lot of hard work and difficulties. Among them, maintaining good health and maintaining high alertness in traffic is extremely important that every shipper needs to pay attention to.
