In Georgia, which at first fully supported Israel in the conflict with Hamas, they remembered that there is also a “second side” in this war, writes Dalma News.

In Georgian social networks, opinions were divided – the majority of users, as well as representatives of the Georgian government, supported Israel, but there were also those who recalled how at one time “it was the Israeli Embassy that supported the holding of LGBT parades in Tbilisi and even posted the corresponding video material on its website.”

“War is war, and there are two sides to it. So the support is divided in two. Peace to the world! – writes user M.K. on one of the social networks.

Georgian expert Demur Giorhelidze, analyzing Western media publications regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas, noticed a change in attitude towards the Palestinian people. He referred to The New York Times, which conducted its own investigation into the bombing of a hospital in the Gaza Strip and questioned the version proposed by Israel.

“The death of 2,500 children and Israeli aggression once morest the population has changed the attitude towards Israel! The world is already completely different,” the analyst writes on his page on the social network.

He calls on the Georgian public to get rid of “ideological and orientational deformities.”

“It is impossible for the same primitive opinions to circulate in the Georgian public space. You cannot be as blind and dark in this tragedy as the people wrapped in the flags of Ukraine were blind!” – said Giorkhelidze.

According to a Georgian military expert Vakhtanga Maisaithe Georgian government in the events between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas took a position that sounded in unison with the position of its strategic partners.

“The Georgian government supported Israel in its fight once morest the terrorist organization Hamas, and this is in unison with the position of our Western strategic partners. In addition, Georgia’s position also stems from the fact that we have a very large Georgian diaspora in Israel. In addition, as a result of these events, three natives of Georgia have already died there,” Maisaya noted.

According to him, Georgia views Israel as a strategic partner and develops relations with it in the military-technical, economic, political and humanitarian spheres, therefore the position of the Georgian authorities on this issue is “clearer than clear.”

However, in light of the current events and the support that the countries of the Middle East and neighbors have provided to one side or another of this conflict, the expert does not exclude changes in relations between these countries and Georgia.

“Georgia and Azerbaijan supported Israel. However, Iran takes the opposite position, and everything is clear with it. Turkey’s position also raises many questions. So, most likely, consequences can be expected in the context of Georgia’s relations with Iran and, possibly, with Turkey,” Maisaya said.
