In his solemn address, delivered this Friday, August 16, in favor of the 64th anniversary of Gabon’s accession to national and international sovereignty, the president of the transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, said he placed this edition of the independence day, the first under the governance of the military regime resulting from the “coup de la liberation”, on August 30, 2023, under the theme: “The coup de la liberation, an opportunity for our rise towards happiness”. In this speech of nearly eleven (11) minutes, the strongman of Libreville listed five (5) major objectives at the head of the State and the social is not left out.
“Let’s build our country together” is the rallying cry and rally for the building of the new Gabon in this period of transition that the president of the Gabonese transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, launched to his compatriots, with a thought visibly marked by nostalgia and consideration, clearly expressed with regard to the late presidents Léon Mba (Father of independence) and Omar Bongo Ondimba (Father of renovation), he said, without any allusion to his fallen predecessor, Ali Bongo Ondimba.
“Building our country together is not just about infrastructure, for me it’s about thinking about something bigger and deeper than roads and buildings.”said the president of the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI) who would like, on the social level, to place particular emphasis on the right to education and health and to restore hope to young people.
On the sites of the restoration of institutions and the dignity of the Gabonese, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma intends “bringing out a new type of Gabonese by formatting bad mentalities”he hammered home. And in this vein, the transitional president castigated the strong tendency of a category of his compatriots to “denigrating the country on social networks”.
In this way, the president of the CTRI intends “rooting Gabon in the rule of law, restoring our country’s nobility and restructuring the national economy in order to guarantee a dignified life for all”, he pledged before urging his compatriots to “putting the higher interest of the nation before personal aspirations”.
