The Senegalese embassy in France condemns the remarks of the far-right French presidential candidate Eric Zemmour. During a Friday visit to Porte de la Villette in Paris, Eric Zemmour said most of the foreign offenders are Senegalese and will be sent back to Senegal if he is elected president.

Last May, the French presidential candidate had already affirmed, on the CNews channel, that “ all crack dealers are Senegalese ” in Paris. This new statement by the polemicist angers Senegal. His ambassador to France, El Hadji Magatte Seye, strongly condemns these remarks.

« After its first outing, Senegal did not consider it necessary to react to the stigmatizing remarks of Mr. Eric Zemmour, but with this second outing, we realize that it is becoming recurrent. It becomes almost obsessive on his part to go following Senegal and the Senegalese community here in France.

The ambassador also sees in it ” primary racism ». « We cannot attack like that a community that makes multiple efforts to integrate and respect the laws of the French Republic. This is why Senegal, through my voice, denounces with the greatest firmness these remarks which we qualify as racist, irresponsible remarks, especially for someone who aspires to hold high office here in France if we know the particular relations that France has with Senegal. »

Senegal’s ambassador to France adds that his country “ take the appropriate actions once morest Eric Zemmour, and that all possibilities are being considered, even legal action once morest the presidential candidate.
