Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova advanced to the second round of the WTA tournament in Berlin.
In the first match, the 26-year-old Russian beat Chinese Zheng Qinwen, the 25th racket of the world, with a score of 6:4, 6:2.
Her next opponent will be the Belarusian Arina Sobolenko, who ranks second in the WTA rankings.

Kudermetova is the 13th racket of the world and the second – Russia. She has one WTA title to her credit. The best result of an athlete in the Grand Slam tournaments is reaching the quarterfinals of Roland Garros 2022.
The tournament in Berlin will end on June 25th. The prize fund of the competition is €678,000.
Later on Wednesday, Russia’s Elina Avanesyan and Anna Blinkova will face each other in the second round. The Fonbet betting company accepts bets on Avanesyan’s victory with a coefficient of 2.60, Blinkova – 1.50.
