In the early hours of this Sunday, the second day of the Jesús María National Dressage and Folklore Festival had to be suspended for weather reasons, following heavy rain that fell on the José Hernández amphitheater.
The storm, which included gusts of wind and hail for a few moments, first threatened following Nahuel Pennisi finished his performance around 11 p.m. At that moment, a downpour lasting a few minutes lifted the audience from the stalls and stands and filled the covered spaces of the Jesús María stadium. Shortly following midnight, the rain returned but with greater force and extent.
After almost an hour of rain, and while the group Los Majestuosos del Chamamé continued playing on the Martín Fierro stage, the festival commission finally announced the suspension of the event through a statement.
“The Board of Directors of the Dressage and Folklore Festival informs that due to the prevailing weather conditions in the region, and for security reasons, the event on Saturday, January 6 of the 58th edition is suspended. News will be reported shortly,” explains the text distributed to the press.
