This Saturday, the National Service for Food Health and Quality confirmed the second case of bird flu, in two wild ducks that turned up dead in the northwest of the province of Córdoba.
“The detection was confirmed late this followingnoon (yesterday) in analyzes carried out by the Senasa National Laboratory in samples taken from two dead wild ducks, both with positive results, in the Las Mojarras artificial lagoon in the Cordoba department of General San Martín, says the communiqué released today.
It is a disease that can cause heavy production losses if it reaches commercial production, for example, from poultry farming. It should be noted that the country has declared a health emergency.
Also, the Animal Influenza virus is not transmitted to people by eating meat and eggs. It is only transmitted by direct contact by handling birds sick or dead from the virus.
