The Faculty of Medicine of the National University of the Northeast reported that on October 20 and 21, the XVI Conference on Scientific Communications in Health Sciences will be held, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Moreno headquarters 1240.
The secretary of Science and Technology of the academic unit, Viviana Navarro, pointed out that this year the science and technology communications sessions are held together with the extension sessions of the Faculty of Medicine.
“Many of the researchers are professors or fellows, both from our Faculty and from the Rector’s Office of Science and Technology, but we have also received works from other countries,” he added.
The works go through a first stage of evaluation, in which they are accepted in their original form or some adjustments are requested if they do not meet certain requirements and those that do not correspond to topics that might be developed in the field of the Faculty of Medicine, are rejected.
The second stage is when the accepted works are presented at the conference, the second evaluation is carried out and then the two evaluations are averaged, to see who are the ones who win prizes in the different categories.
Finally, he commented that, on this occasion, “there are more than 100 in science and technology and 50 for extension. They point to different areas of health, from basic research where one can do research, for example, with mice looking for different things, to clinical research where information can be collected from patients and, in addition, there is a lot of research in medical education, which It is a very interesting field”, explained Navarro.
