The schedule of Asia Cup 2023 has been announced, when and where will Pakistan’s matches be held?

Asian Cricket Council and Pakistan Cricket Board have announced the schedule of Men’s ODI Asia Cup 2023 on Wednesday. This tournament of 50 overs format will be played from August 30 to September 17.

Four venues have been selected for the 13 matches of the Asia Cup. Host Pakistan will host four matches. One match will be played in Multan while three matches will be played in Lahore. There will be nine matches in Sri Lanka, out of which three matches will be played in Kandy and six matches will be played in Colombo.

Multan in Pakistan will host the opening match of the tournament which will be played between Pakistan and Nepal on August 30. Kandy in Sri Lanka will host three matches of the first round, followed by the five matches of the Super Four stage in Colombo and the final on September 17. Sri Lanka will play their first match once morest Bangladesh in Kandy on August 31, while India will open their tournament once morest Pakistan on September 2 in Kandy.

If both Pakistan and India make it to the Super Four stage, then they will meet once once more on September 10 in Colombo. After the opening match in Multan, the teams of Bangladesh and Afghanistan will compete in the matches to be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on September 3. Afghanistan will face Sri Lanka on September 5.

If the situation remains as per the seeding, then on September 6, the first match of the Super Four stage will also be played between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Lahore. Pakistan and India have been placed A1 and A2 respectively in the seeding. The third team in this Group A is Nepal. In Group B Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are B1 and B2 respectively. The third team in this group is Afghanistan. If the teams from Nepal and Afghanistan manage to make it to the Super Four stage from their respective groups, then they will replace the teams that were eliminated in the first round in the seeding.

Nepal will take the place in the seeding of the team that will not qualify for the Super Four stage.

Group B. Sri Lanka (B1), Bangladesh (B2) and Afghanistan

Afghanistan will take place in the seeding of the team that fails to make it to the Super Four stage.

Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf said that as the host of the Asia Cup, the announcement of the schedule of the event shows that we are ready to plan and implement the tournament so that the participants Teams and fans can enjoy it to the fullest. Our arrangements and hospitality have always been exemplary and once once more this will be a great opportunity to showcase everyone at the international level. Pakistan is getting the honor of hosting the ACC Asia Cup following a long period of fifteen years.

He said that our fans have had to wait for this for a long time. We are determined to organize this event on a bigger and better scale so that the fans and participants count the days of the ICC Champions Trophy. Start which will be hosted by Pakistan in February 2025.

Zaka Ashraf congratulated Nepal for qualifying in the Asia Cup and said that apart from Nepal, they also welcome Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have played in Pakistan before.
