The scandal is growing: it became clear why the actor Péter Sándor was fired from the Operetta Theatre

Viewers were outraged when it was revealed that Peter Alexander it is not included in the March and April performances of the Operetta Theatre. They also started a petition for it, but the institution the day following tomorrow is now announcing that the actor has been fired. You can read the full text of the announcement below, which also includes the reason why they decided to part with Péter Sándor:

“The Press Communication Department of the Budapest Operettszínház announces that the theater has terminated the contract with artist Péter Sándor. The Budapest Operettszínház has not disclosed the termination of the contract between the management of the theater and Péter Sándor due to negotiations that ended without results. Kiss-B. Mr. Atilla, the director-general, personally highly appreciates the outstanding singing and acting qualities of Péter Sándor, which is also proven by the fact that he gave him the opportunity to step on the stage of the Budapest Operetta Theater once more, and in recent years entrusted the artist with the creation of a series of leading roles in many genres. The content and tone of Péter Sándor’s recent expressions within the walls of the theater would be unacceptable in any other theater, just as it is also indefensible in the Budapest Operetta Theatre, therefore, based on the above reasons, the management of the theater has decided that it does not wish to work with Péter Sándor at the moment. The Budapest Operettszínház considers the case closed and intends to focus on its widely recognized professional work with many excellent creators and popular artists.”

Péter Sándor has not yet responded to the case, the official on his Facebook in the last post, he mourns Miklós Szurdi. However, it is puzzling that the Operettszínház mentions the unacceptable content and tone of the actor’s expressions, as this justification strongly reminds us of the case of Enikő Eszenyi, once morest whom colleagues had similar objections.

The last time this topic was discussed was in December, when Áron Molnár spoke regarding Eszenyi, with whom they had worked together for years.

“What did Enikő’s generation inherit from education? They threw up before the master class at the University of Theater and Film Arts, they were so nervous regarding what their masters would say. I think they have learned nothing but this kind of abusive behavior. This generation grew up in this, and those who don’t direct like that are very lucky, but the majority of that generation directs like this, directs like this, and thinks like this, because they were given no other alternative.”

– said Áron Molnár recently, referring to the fact that Eniko Eszenyi had to leave the Vígszínház because, according to his subordinates, he created a toxic atmosphere and regularly humiliated others while working.
