On Tuesday, the Saudi Civil Aviation Authority issued a statement regarding the prices of domestic air tickets, following their prices increased.
In its statement, which it published on its Twitter account, the authority said that it notes an increase in some categories of tickets, pledging to take measures to review air transport pricing.
“We will increase seat capacity and the number of flights in order to ensure the provision of reasonable prices for passengers and enhance competitiveness in the air sector,” the statement said.
The authority indicated that the principle of travelers’ rights and protection is a top priority.
Some of the tweeters praised the authority’s statement, and bin Owaid said: “Adequate timing and a smart statement that touches reality.” Saud Al Saud said: “A positive move…Reviewing the air transport pricing structure is a successful step to control ticket prices and provide them to travelers at reasonable prices.”
