The “Saudi Ministers” approve the communications and information technology system

The Saudi Cabinet, which held its session this followingnoon, headed by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz, approved the communications and information technology system.

And the Saudi Press Agency “SPA” stated that the Council approved “a guiding model for a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence in the Kingdom and its counterpart parties in other countries regarding activating the electronic link to verify the matching of travelers who are citizens of the Kingdom and the counterpart country and residents in any of them, to the health requirements of the Corona virus.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority – or his representative – was also authorized to discuss with counterpart parties in other countries a draft memorandum of understanding in this regard, sign it, and then submit the final signed copy, to complete the legal procedures.

For his part, Abdullah Al-Sawaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said in a tweet via “Twitter”, that the communications and information technology system is an important step in consolidating the Kingdom’s position as a center for technology, innovation and leadership, and a key driver for accelerating the growth of the digital economy, empowering entrepreneurs and enhancing the nation’s competitiveness.
