The Saudi coalition announces the number of Houthi prisoners it sent to Yemen… and reveals the fate of foreigners

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen announced, on Friday, the number of Houthi prisoners who were recently released and transferred to Yemeni territory, and sent them via two planes.

The coalition indicated that it transferred 108 prisoners to Aden and 9 prisoners to Sana’a, while 9 other foreigners are being handed over to their country’s embassies.

The coalition indicated that it sent 37 prisoners by land for humanitarian considerations and because of the proximity of their places of residence in Yemen to the border with Saudi Arabia.

The coalition had announced the departure of two planes to Aden and Sana’a to hand over the prisoners as part of a humanitarian initiative presented by Saudi Arabia in Yemen.
