The Saudi Arab-African Economic Conference will open on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Hilton Riyadh Hotel in Riyadh. The event will bring together executives and decision-makers as well as an elite group of Saudi, Arab and African officials, financial, business and investment leaders from the government and private sectors, trade associations and international organizations, as well as prominent figures from academia and think tanks. His Excellency Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Aljadaan said that the royal support for this conference reflects the leadership’s commitment to consolidating the Kingdom’s relations with the African continent, which plays an important role in the global economy. The event is part of the Kingdom’s efforts to enhance economic cooperation and capitalize on investment opportunities in both countries.
The minister added: “This conference aims to consolidate the foundations of the Saudi, Arab and African partnership in a range of economic and investment aspects, such as achieving food security, strengthening partnerships in agriculture, industry, mining and trade, establishing new partnerships between African and Saudi companies, creating a platform for exporters and importers from both sides and highlighting opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector to promote economic growth.”
SE explained that the conference will provide a platform for global and regional development funds and programs to explore ideas and projects through the conference sessions and in-depth discussions. The event will also highlight investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Africa.
The conference agenda includes seven sessions attended by several Highnesses and Excellencies as well as leaders and decision-makers from the financial and investment sectors. Session topics include: the role of sustainable energy partnerships and their importance in facilitating access to energy sources; strengthening cooperation frameworks to achieve food security; Investing in business, infrastructure and human capital development; industry and mining; the use of tourism for growth; and improving cooperation to achieve sustainable development. A number of agreements will also be signed at the conference.
