I’m looking forward to the matches, we’ll be playing in the Ottawa Senators’ home arena, where there can probably be quite a lot of pressure,” Altörn said.

Altörn, who primarily plays as an outside forward but can also slot in as a center, attributes his success to his skating ability and a strong understanding of the game. He sees his knack for positioning himself effectively as a key strength.

While he’s thrilled about the World Juniors, Altörn admits that spending Christmas away from family will be a new experience.”It will be a bit special, it is the first time it has happened. I think we have some team dinner on Christmas Eve, so we can celebrate then instead,” he said.
When asked if he considered declining the JVM offer to be home for Christmas, Altörn laughed and responded, “Haha! No, not really. There will be more Christmases to come, which I can celebrate at home, but I didn’t want to miss this chance.”
Just a day after the interview, Leksand IF announced a rookie contract with Altörn, extending to 2027. This followed Altörn surpassing 100 minutes played in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).
