The SAS strike has consequences for one of the world’s largest oil and energy fairs

Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) is one of the world’s largest oil and energy fairs and is held from Monday to Thursday. During the opening, among others, the Prime Minister and the Crown Prince will speak.

According to NTB’s knowledge, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Ap) will not fly with SAS – and he will thus not be affected by the ongoing strike when he flies to Stavanger.

Several arrivals at Stavanger Airport Sola have been canceled on Sunday evening and Monday morning, the pages show Avinor.

Many flights are not affected

– It is important for us to respect the right to strike, even if it has consequences for both us and others, says communications director Inger Johanne Stenberg at ONS to NTB.

– We also know that there are many flights between Stavanger and the rest of the world, and these are largely untouched, she adds.

Stenberg says their event is going as planned.

– There are also many options for getting to ONS by train, ferry, bus and car. For the time being, there is no major impact that we have been made aware of, she says.

The Crown Prince at the opening

Crown Prince Haakon is also scheduled to be present during the opening of the event. NTB has not yet received an answer to the inquiry to the Palace about whether he will fly with SAS or not.

The unions Parat and Fellesforbundet have informed NTB that 155 members have been called out on strike this weekend. Fellesforbundet has withdrawn 115 people, and Parat has withdrawn 40 people. This makes up 20 per cent of the cabin crew who are members of these unions.
