Santa Teresita, the traditional parish school in the state of Sucre, the only one affiliated with the Venezuelan Association of Catholic Education (Avec) in Carúpano, turned 74 years old and celebrated in style with all the children who study at the school on the stage of the theater hall of the city’s Ateneo, singing and dancing.

Alexis Ledezma, deputy director of the institution, said that it has been serving the Bermúdez community for 74 years.

On Thursday, 22 cultural events were held where children from preschool to sixth grade showed their talents. In total, 547 children expressed their affection for the school.

Ledezma stressed that the institution has been providing quality education for seven decades, with specialists in integrated classrooms.

This year, 94 children are graduating from sixth grade and are working to continue their studies in the secondary-technical area.

In this regard, he said that they hope to acquire the land next to the school in order to implement growth plans, in order to provide education to children leaving sixth grade.

He stressed that one of the greatest achievements was having its own building and having its own chapel, which is at the end of the building, to provide Catholic education to children.

The institution is attached to the Diocese of Carúpano “and we provide education based on the Catholic faith, focused on human and Christian values.”

He took the opportunity to request the repair of a fallen collector in front of the school building, which has been causing problems for the infrastructure.
