Le Samsung Galaxy A23 5G was recently listed on the benchmarking site Geekbench under the model number SM-A236U. The opportunity to talk regarding its alleged technical characteristics.
Several series devices Galaxy A and Galaxy M were EMVCO certified last February. Followed, in March, by the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy A23 4G which packs a Snapdragon 680 processor. Recently, the 5G variant of this model was spotted on Geekbench for a performance evaluation.
This suggests an imminent exit.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 to power the 5G version
The Galaxy A23 5G is expected to share much of its specs with the 4G model. It would house a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 695, which is an upgraded version of Snapdragon 690. This chipset has six cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and two performance cores clocked at 2.21 GHz. Thanks to the improvements it benefits from, its general performance is 15% higher, while its Adreno 619 GPU is 30% faster. However, with possible support for 5G mmWave, this model might only target US consumers. According to a first report published in May, the Californian firm should offer another model for other markets, notably Europe.
Also, the Galaxy A23 5G would come with 4GB of RAM and run Android 12 with the OneUI4.1 skin. Just like the one built into the 4G model, a large 5,000 mAh battery should be there. As for the test results conducted by Geekbench, they seem to be quite decent for an affordable 5G smartphone. Indeed, the device scored 674 on the single-core test and 2019 on the multi-core test.
A large LCD screen for the Galaxy A23 5G
According to OneLeaks, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G will feature a thick bezel around the screen. On the front, it would sport a 6.55-inch LCD display with a 90HZ refresh rate. As for the appearance of the back side, it would be quite similar to the Galaxy A32, A52 and A72, probably with a four-camera setup. The main sensor would still show a resolution of 50MP. A small change might be made to the ultra wide lens which would be 8MP.
On the right side, we should normally find the volume rocker and the power button. The audio jack (3.5mm), microphone, USB-C port, and speaker grille would be located as usual at the bottom. Excluding the camera block bump, the smartphone would measure 165.4 x 77 x 8.5mm.
