The Salzburg local railway remains local – despite the S-Links

Without modern expansion to Lamprechtshausen or Ostermiething, the Salzburg Local Railway (SLB) remains slow and unreliable. Both places are terminus stations – an extension to Tittmoning or Michaelbeuern might increase the attractiveness of the railway. In many cases, crossings are inadequately secured, as accidents prove. Rail replacement transport makes the longed-for mobility transition (taking bicycles) impossible. Intervals of 15 minutes are unbearable, and an S-Link won’t change that in the long term. Unreasonable for commuters with fixed working hours (e.g. nursing staff).

An efficient north-south connection is desirable, but the prerequisites for it should first be created: dual tracks, fewer stops, shorter intervals, enough space for cars and bicycles, secured crossings, accessibility, elevators, connection to the ÖBB, etc.
