The sale of an emblematic villa in Knokke-le-Zoute ranks as the second largest transaction in Belgium

As our colleagues from Tijd and Laatste Nieuws inform, this is the second largest transaction in Belgium for real estate.

It has been two years since the owners of the prestigious villa put the house up for sale. Its acquisition is now recorded for a small million euros less than the starting price. Le Tijd reports that it was a Dutch real estate entrepreneur who bought the property from Pierre Salik, a businessman originally from Charleroi and living in Brussels. It seems he lived just across the street from the villa and wanted something bigger. According to our colleagues, Pierre Salik was charged with corruption and had to pay several million euros to end the criminal proceedings.

It must be said that this villa has something to seduce since it has 12 bedrooms, as many bathrooms, a 4,000m² garden, nearly 1,500m² of living space.

The largest transaction in Belgium is that of Bart Bersluys, an entrepreneur in the field of construction. The latter bought the Fort Saint-Paul estate (also located in Knokke-le-Zoute) for the sum of 30 million euros.
