The Saint-André-Avellin emergency room closed temporarily

The Saint-André-Avellin emergency will be temporarily closed from tomorrow, until January 28.

The goal is to prevent a breakdown in emergency services at the Papineau Hospital, which is grappling with a personnel issue, while COVID-19 has infected several employees.

According to the CISSS de l’Outaouais, the nursing staff of Saint-André-Avellin will lend a hand to the Papineau Hospital.

While the Saint-André emergency room is closed, consultations with a doctor will still be offered at the GMF located at the same location.

“Emergency doctors make themselves available for medical consultations at the GMF, located in the same building as the emergency room. A solidarity which will allow the population of the sector to continue to have access to medical consultations. To have a medical appointment, customers can go to the GMF where a nurse can schedule an appointment for them, depending on availability. As a reminder, this community-level emergency is open Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. “
