Russian Dmitry Bivol was recognized as the best boxer of the year according to ESPN. About it reported on the channel’s website.
Bivol, WBA (with the prefix Super) light heavyweight champion (up to 79.38 kg), in his last fight on November 5 won Mexican Gilberto Ramirez by unanimous decision.
Prior to this, on May 8, the Russian defended his WBA title in a fight with the undisputed world super middleweight champion Saul Alvarez – for the Mexican, this was the first defeat since 2013 and the second in his career. On account of 31-year-old Bivol 20 fights in professional boxing, he won in all fights.
Formerly Bivol was recognized the best boxer of the year according to the WBA.
