“The Russian invasion is beginning to fail”, according to the British defense minister

According to British Defense Minister Ben Wallace, the Russian invasion is weakening and “begins to fail in many areas”.

“They have failed so far and will probably never succeed in occupying Ukraine”declared Ben Wallace, Thursday August 11, with the journalists.

The press conference held by the defense ministers of the United Kingdom, Denmark and Ukraine followed an international donors’ conference, during which twenty-six countries announced additional military aid to Ukraine , of 1.5 billion euros.

“President Putin bet that in August (…) we would all be tired of the conflict (…). Well, we are proving the opposite today”also said Ben Wallace.

The exact amounts of donations from all countries, including France, Germany and the United States, have not been made public, but Denmark has announced an additional envelope of 114 million dollars, bringing it to nearly 417 million its effort since the beginning of the Russian invasion. Great Britain, which co-hosted the meeting with its Scandinavian ally and Ukraine, pledged 300 million euros.

“Our partners know that we need funds and have declared themselves ready to support us financially”welcomed the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Oleksiï Reznikov.

The donor group is due to meet once more in mid-September.
