The Russian Federation storms Ugdal and Putin again threatens a nuclear strike. Discussing the events of the war with Dmitry Kuznets
On September 25, Putin stated at the Russian Security Council Nuclear Deterrence Meeting that he would “adjust” the way Russia’s nuclear weapons are used.
In essence, Putin proposed expanding the list of conditions under which the use of nuclear weapons would be allowed. The Russian president linked the proposal to changes in the military-political situation. Putin said the new approach had been “appreciated” by the Defense Ministry, the Foreign Ministry and the Security Council.
At the Security Council meeting, Putin listed some new conditions for Russia to prepare to use nuclear weapons. For example, if a non-nuclear country invades Russia but a nuclear country participates or supports it, nuclear weapons can be used. Another condition is aggression against Russia and Belarus, including the use of conventional weapons.
